New Class designed to support brain health through engaging members in five important content areas: socialization, mental agility, physical activity, spirituality, and nutrition
The ARK, Alzheimer’s Family Support Services has created a new class, “The Navigation Club,” designed to support brain health through engaging members in five important content areas: socialization, mental agility, physical activity, spirituality, and nutrition. Anyone wanting to maintain and improve their memory is encouraged to attend. This class meets weekly on Fridays, starting on May 10 at The ARK House, 502 West 5th North Street in Summerville, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The classes will be facilitated by a coordinator who is knowledgeable about memory loss and the maintenance of healthy brain function. Guest speakers will discuss topics having to do with the health and vitality of the brain. While classes will encourage club member participation, there will also be tools provided for practice at home. Each class includes a healthy snack, weekly resources, and recommended readings. Members may request a memory screening test to establish a baseline measurement.
