The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce has been awarded the 2018 Chamber of the Year award by Alexandria, Va.-based Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). It was one of only three finalists – along with Greater Louisville Inc and the Tulsa Regional – in the Metro Chamber's category four.

Chamber of the Year is the nation’s only award recognizing the leadership role chambers have in their communities and excellence in operations, member services, and community leadership. Those honored with the Chamber of the Year designation have demonstrated organizational strength and made an impact on key community priorities, such as education, transportation, business development, and quality of life.

"We are thrilled to accept the prestigious award for 2018 Chamber of the Year. We could not have accomplished this without the support of our dedicated members, our phenomenal group of volunteer leaders, and our 34 hard-working staff members who are passionate about the work that we do," said Bryan Derreberry, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. "We were honored to be nominated alongside remarkable chambers such as Louisville and Tulsa for the Chamber of the Year Finalist and thankful for our business community and region who have been so supportive."

At the annual ACCE Convention, the Charleston Metro Chamber was also recognized with the Best in Show award for the Quarterly Report publications and Membership Engagement Director Justin Lee was recognized for achieving a large milestone in membership sales and retention.
