Sunju Patel

Sunju Patel is the co-founder and managing member of TMGOC Ventures, which came to life in 2023 and has a $1 billion portfolio of investments, including partnerships with hotel brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Curio Collection by Hilton. Prior to starting TMGOC, Patel co-founded The Montford Group, a real estate investment and development firm, in 2017. At The Montford Group, Patel helped to expand its robust real estate portfolio to include office, retail and hotel across the Southeast including new hotel developments with premier partners Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt. A graduate of College of Charleston, Patel is a member of the College of Charleton School of Business board of governors, and he serves on the Accommodation Tax Committee for the city of Charleston. Asked to name a partnership or initiative he’s proud to have been part of during 2025, Patel said, “In 2025, I’m most proud of the continued growth of TMGOC’s hospitality portfolio. Partnering with communities and investors to deliver projects that balance entrepreneurial vision with institutional discipline has been deeply rewarding. One initiative that stands out is our expansion into Charleston, where we’ve been able to create developments that not only generate strong returns but also enhance the cultural and social fabric of the city.”
