Excellence in Business, Economic Impact Awards Announced
Nov 08, 2023 01:24PM ● By Donna Isbell WalkerFour construction companies were honored with Excellence in Business awards at this year’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies in South Carolina recognition, held last month in Columbia.
The SC Excellence in Business Awards reward exceptional work by companies and corporations across South Carolina through revenue growth, longevity of employees, longevity of clients/customer relations, and community outreach, and recognize and honor the well-respected companies and their executives within a variety of industries throughout the state.
To be eligible for consideration, companies must have reported minimum revenues of $20 million in the last fiscal year for judging.
Award recipients were:
Chancel Construction, Employee Retention Award.
Jordon Construction, Growth in Revenues Award
CF Evans Construction, Customer/Client Retention Award
Harper General Contractors, Community Involvement Award.
In addition to the four Excellence in Business awards, the South Carolina Economic Impact Award, presented by BMW Manufacturing, was given out at the recognition luncheon.
The Economic Impact Award recognizes companies in the Palmetto State whose activities have produced extraordinary results.
To be eligible for consideration, companies must:
Be headquartered in South Carolina
Have been in operations for at least ten consecutive fiscal years
Have reported minimum revenues of $100M in the last fiscal year for judging.

Show commitment to the community and/or nonprofit sector
This year’s Economic Impact Award went to ZF Transmissions, headquartered in Gray Court, which produces transmissions for vehicles by a variety of car makers. Earlier this year, the company announced that it would begin production of a commercial vehicle PowerLine transmission, which represents a $200 million investment in the Gray Court facility.
