Getting students to and through college is the purpose of the UNCF Upstate South Carolina Mayor’s Masked Ball, a formal masquerade ball, which will be held at 7:00 p.m. March 24, 2018 at the Greenville Hyatt Regency. The keynote address will be provided by Lamman Rucker, actor, entrepreneur, and educator. Following the brief program, there will be live entertainment provided by the Mike Stone Band and dancing.

The event is hosted by Greenville Mayor Knox H. White and co-hosted by Anderson Mayor Terence Roberts, Spartanburg Mayor Junie White, and Greer Mayor Richard “Rick” Danner.

UNCF Upstate Leadership Council and Mayor’s Masked Ball Chair Carlos Phillips, president and CEO of Greenville Chamber, will welcome more than 400 guests to this event. “This is the first year the Upstate will host a Mayor’s Masked Ball. Our goal is to help young people achieve their dreams of earning a college degree and becoming productive employees. With your help and support, the UNCF Upstate Campaign will meet our goal of raising $150,000,” stated Mr. Phillips.

“It is an honor to host the UNCF Upstate Mayor’s Masked Ball. We hope to increase awareness that UNCF scholars are a source of talent for employers in the Upstate. As leaders, we have a responsibility to assist UNCF in fulfilling their mission of helping all students get to and through college. Please join me at this year’s event!”

Employers are looking for a diverse pool of college educated professionals. These employers need young men and women who receive college degrees each year. Tens of thousands of students look to UNCF for the support they need to help pay for tuition, textbooks, and other college costs. UNCF is the largest provider of educational support to minority students.

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at uncf.org/upstatemb.
