David Stenstrom came to Volvo’s Charleston plant in January 2021, managing the plant until November 2025, when he moved to Gothenburg, Sweden, to become the Head of Programs and Quality for Industrial Operations. Prior to his time in Charleston, Stenstrom served as general manager for the Daqing plant in China, and he has held various management positions in manufacturing and manufacturing engineering. The Volvo Cars Charleston plant employs approximately 1,500 people and produces electric vehicles for the company. Stenstrom earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Mechanics from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.
