LS3P has announced that Becky Smith, AIA, LEED BD+C, NCARB has been named a Healthcare market leader within the firm. In this role, Smith will lead efforts to advance LS3P’s Healthcare market in the Charleston region through strong client relationships, strategic growth, and the development of local talent. Smith will contribute to project development, share her expertise with teams, and support innovation in their market area.
Smith brings more than 40 years of diverse architectural experience to LS3P. Primarily focused on medical design, she is highly skilled in project planning, programming, and all other facets of healthcare design. She has been involved with the design of facilities for hospitals, research laboratories, medical office buildings, and ambulatory care facilities. She has also worked with over 20 colleges and universities designing simulation labs for nursing and health sciences programs.
In her previous role as director of medical planning, Becky Smith served as a panelist for “Building Engineering for Infection Control.” The virtual CEU event, hosted by Medical Construction and Design, highlighted two recent renovation projects at the Medical University of South Carolina, completed in collaboration with LS3P and RMF Engineering: the Ashley River Tower bone marrow transplant outpatient clinic and the Hollings Cancer Center chemotherapy pharmacy. Both projects demonstrate best practices in infection and contamination control while supporting adaptability for future healthcare needs. She currently serves as secretary for the Southeast Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SESHSMD) of which she has been a board member since 2020.
