Julie Carson Bayne is the driving force behind Carson's, a family business her parents founded in 1969. Inspired by her mentor and mother, Jane Carson, the company has grown to four locations and 100 employees. Rooted in family values, she leads with heart — treating employees like family across four generations. Motivated by the legacy of her father and brother Johnny, Bayne is committed to making them proud.

Is there a mentor who has meant a lot to you in your career?

My mentor is my mom, Jane Carson. She and my dad started Carson's in 1969, and when he faced health issues, she stepped up as president in 1979. I watched her run the company while being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired last year at 91, after losing my dad at 89. She is truly one of a kind and my hero.

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

My greatest fear is letting people down. When I see how far Carson's has come — four locations and 100 employees — I feel the weight of that responsibility. I get through the tough moments by asking myself how my mom, dad, and brother would handle things. At the end of the day, I just want to make them proud.
