Jenny Halstead is the executive director of eMYRge, a nonprofit focused on supporting founders, advancing workforce development, and strengthening the innovation economy in the Myrtle Beach area. She leads initiatives that connect entrepreneurs, students, and remote workers through education, mentorship, and collaborative workspace. Under her leadership, eMYRge has become a platform where ideas are developed, talent is retained, and companies are built, helping position the region as a place for innovation and long-term growth.
Build in the open. The strongest work is not created behind closed doors and revealed when it is finished. It comes from inviting people in early, asking them to participate, and giving them a role in shaping what it becomes. It is not a finished product. It is a work in progress. That approach creates better outcomes and a stronger sense of ownership from the people involved.
Show up and stay engaged. Progress rarely happens in isolation. It comes from being in the room, contributing, listening, and working through things alongside others. Collaboration is not automatic, it requires presence and participation. The more consistently you show up and invest in the people around you, the more momentum builds. Over time, that shared effort leads to stronger outcomes than anything built alone.
