Ingevity’s annual Trident United Way campaign, conducted in November, raised a total of $1,090,647 in pledges to nonprofit organizations throughout the region. This marks the fifth consecutive year Ingevity and its Charleston-based employees have donated more than $1 million through the annual campaign.

“Our core purpose is to make products that purify, protect, and enhance the world around us,” said Michael Wilson, president and CEO, Ingevity. “This same spirit extends to our community relations. We aim to be a positive influence in all the communities in which we operate around the globe. This donation to multiple nonprofit organizations through our Trident United Way campaign is one way we’re able to generate positive change.”

More than 200 Ingevity employees pledged a total of $545,323 to charitable organizations. To maximize the impact of these dollars, Ingevity matched employee giving dollar-for-dollar. The Trident United Way and its funded charities are primary beneficiaries of donations through the campaign.

“Ingevity exemplifies the best in corporate social responsibility,” said Chris Kerrigan, president and CEO of Trident United Way. “We appreciate that so many Ingevity employees support Trident United Way and other local nonprofits. They know that it’s on all of us to support community transformation so that every Lowcountry resident has opportunities in education, financial stability, and health.”

Trident United Way and Ingevity work cooperatively to create bold community change. Ingevity’s charitable donation will help to improve educational outcomes for students while improving the standard of living and promoting healthy outcomes for our neighbors.
