East Cooper Medical Center recognizes Olga Dileno, RN as the newest Daisy RN Award Winner.

Dileno began her nursing career at East Cooper Medical Center in May 2014. She currently works as a charge nurse for the Women’s Services Department.

Dileno was nominated for the award by a patient who delivered a baby in August 2018. The patient wrote, “Olga was my cheerleader and late night encourager. She knelt by my bed and cried with me when it hurt. She shared many encouraging stories and made me and my husband feel empowered to be the best caregivers to our baby girl. She did all of this while caring for me and my physical recovery with respect and genuine concern. I pray that when we have our next baby, we will be blessed to deliver at East Cooper and we will have Olga as our nurse again. She is extraordinary!”

“Olga’s nomination is an example of the many great relationships she fosters with our patients,” said Patrick Downes, chief executive officer of East Cooper Medical Center. “If you ever get a chance to meet Olga, you’ll see how strong her compassion is and why she is so deserving of this award.”

East Cooper Medical Center awards nominated nurses with The Daisy Award. The award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they stated a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manor.
