Carolina Textile Care, LLC announced plans to construct a new commercial laundry plant in Hampton County. The company's $7.3 million investment is projected to create 50 new jobs.

Located in the Lowcountry Regional Industrial Park in Early Branch, S.C., Carolina Textile Care's new, 25,000-square-foot commercial laundry plant will have an initial annual processing capacity of 10 million pounds. The commercial focus of the new operation will be to serve high-end hotels and resorts. Hiring for the new positions should begin at the end of 2018.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $75,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Hampton County to assist with the costs of site preparation and building construction.

"Carolina Textile Care is delighted to build our plant in Early Branch, S.C.," said Managing Partner Andy Thorson. "Hampton County is an ideal location, and we are impressed with the spirit and productivity of the people at SouthernCarolina Alliance, Hampton County Council, and the S.C. Department of Commerce who have worked hard to help us launch this project. We look forward to becoming a part of the community's commercial fabric and to serving the best hospitality organizations in the Lowcountry with the highest quality laundering and finishing of their valuable textiles and linens."
