Piccolo Spoleto At Nexton Concert Slated

Piccolo Spoleto at Nexton will be held on Saturday, June 2 at Brown Family Park (2000 Front Street, Summerville, South Carolinain Summerville, S.C. Live music will be performed by two internationally acclaimed bands – Sammy Miller & The Congregation and Empire Strikes Brass.

Born on the streets of Asheville, N.C, Empire Strikes Brass will open up the show. This 10-person band stretches the boundaries of the stereotypical brass band paradigm, fusing sounds from around the globe.

Second to the stage is the headliner, Sammy Miller and The CongregationGrammy-nominated drummer, singer and bandleader Sammy Miller and his ensemble perform a jazz style. Independently, the band members have performed and recorded with notable artists including Wynton Marsalis, Lady Gaga, and Queen Latifah at venues including the White House, Lincoln Center, and the Hollywood Bowl.

The event will host local food trucks including Damiano’s Pizza, Braised in the South, Semilla, Gelato Moto, Bottleneck Coffee Truck, and Miracle’s Tasty Express. Accommodations are available at The Nexton Marriott Courtyard, adjacent to the park.
