Allegiant Airlines will launch in Charleston on April 4 with three days of inaugural flights to and from Charleston International Airport.

The first is a nonstop service to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The airline will begin its service to Cincinnati on Thursday, followed by the first flight to Indianapolis on Friday.

“We are always excited to welcome a new airline to Charleston International Airport,” said Paul G. Campbell Jr., executive director and CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority. “Allegiant becomes our eighth airline and the second to offer travelers a la carte options when it comes to travel.”

The flights to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis are all nonstop and seasonal. The flights will operate twice weekly and will bring nearly 30,000 passengers to Charleston from those three cities. The airline also connects Charleston travelers to a currently unserved area of the Midwestern market.

With this addition, Charleston International Airport becomes home to eight airlines offering nonstop flights to 27 cities and 23 airports.
