Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a regional full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, construction services, and sustainability services throughout the Carolinas, has been selected to build a US Foods CHEF’STORE in downtown Charleston.

The Charleston location will be Frampton Construction’s third project for US Foods, having completed projects for them in both Tempe, Ariz., and Oklahoma City, Okla. Construction here begins in November of 2017 and is expected to be complete in June 2018.

The 59,000-square foot store will sit on a nine-acre site with frontage on Meeting Street. The building will be constructed with structural steel and concrete tilt panels and will boast a façade that includes architectural metal wall panels and concrete tilt panels with brick inlay to provide an aesthetically pleasing exterior look.  The outdoor portion of the site facing Meeting Street will see exterior improvements, including over 10,000-square feet of pavers and landscaping to meet architectural review requirements. Hoyt & Berenyi and Robert Johnson Architects are the civil engineer and architect on the project.

CHEF’STORE is a one-stop wholesale restaurant food, equipment and supply store featuring an assortment of pantry staples, specialty products and other must-have items for chefs, restaurant owners and other food industry professionals. The Charleston CHEF’STORE will be the fifth of its kind across the nation, joining stores in Tempe, Arizona; Charlotte, North Carolina; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Columbia, South Carolina.
