Danny Morrison Joins Blinktbi Advisory Board

Danny Morrison, former president of the NFL Carolina Panthers, joins the advisory board for Blinktbi, Inc. based in Charleston.

Morrison resigned from his position with the Panthers in February 2017 to pursue interests on the college level. He is now professor of practice in the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.

Blinktbi has developed the world’s first patented device, called the Reflexometer, to objectively monitor concussions. The Reflexometer provides an objective, quick, and noninvasive means of concussion detection using the blink reflex. The device uses light puffs of air directed near the patient’s eyelashes to trigger the blink reflex while a high speed camera records it and tracks the eyelids. This process can help detect concussions in real-time and yield objective data for medical personnel to make decisions and best protect athletes.

“I have seen firsthand the growing issues surrounding concussions and know there is immediate need for objective assessment that can be easily and quickly administered field-side, and Blinktbi has that,” said Morrison. “This device is a game changer in the sports world and I'm delighted to join their pioneering efforts to help keep athletes safer.”
